In this message I hope to show how all the events of the first Christmas took place under the rule of the Eternal God. That same rule is in operation today and we have to respond to that rule.
The birth of Jesus completed centuries of preparations and fulfilled OT promises. It showed the tragedy of Israel’s contemporary status, but also showed that God had not yet completed His Purposes. The Babe of Bethlehem would not only become the crucified Saviour, but also the Crowned Sovereign.
God made and fulfilled promises in the coming of Jesus. He has made others as a result of the coming of Jesus. What will we do with them?
Matthew wrote his Gospel convinced that Jesus, the Babe of Bethlehem was the Messiah (Christ) the Saviour of the World and the Son of God.
Jesus grew as the Son of Joseph the carpenter of Nazareth who was a model for his (and our) human life.
